Steven -

Yes, you will have to remove the sissy bar to install the luggage rack which will hold the trunk. The luggage rack (part # STR-5VP51-30-00) will bolt into the exact same holes that the sissy bar just came out of. I saved mine just in case I wanted to convert back later.

Post edited by: Tbone21, at: 2007/08/13 09:10

well I finally got the trunk for my 07 Midnight silverado. After fussing about the mounting, I elected to leave the sissy bar in place and mounted the trunk in back on the luggage rack. The only drawback is the trunk lid doesn't open more than 3/4 as its inhibited by the the rider backrest, however; its enough to gain access and place a helmet in it. The trunk lid rattles and so far I havn't been able to adjust it to snug. I believe that a judicious application of foam door insulation may snug it down. Other than that, it matches the black raven to a tee, looks nice, and I now have room for my helmat instead of under the seat. Thank you TBone and all the others for the contributions. Now if only I had a sound system....................$$$$$$$$$$$$....Hey honey? ya'll think I could put a sound system on my toy??????

I purchased the Hoppe Industries fairing with the Eclipse 400 watt stereo and there is nothing like motoring down the road and rocking out to the music. I attached a trunk from a harley to my bike and used the pockets that the sissy bar sat in. I made the bracket.

I have the Hoppe fairing, as well. The trunk is from Scootworks with Hogtunes rear speakers. The bags are Yamaha R* hard bags...Just got it all mounted this past weekend. It's working out real good, so far!
