As for the BB,I bought this bike with the idea of rebuilding the motor from day one. After pricing out head work, cams, carb etc the over bore was only $400 more. As for performance, I am over 30 hp over stock. You either lay on the porch or run with the Old Dog.

How is the reliability of your big bore?

I have the Barnett clutch spring and IMHO it was well worth it. Barnett perfected their plate with engineering and yes it is a little stiffer on the hand but you get used to it. Performance wise it does exactly what they say it will do. I know several people who put the warrior spring plate on and noticed big improvement and one guy who did the double spring deal but after all my research I'm glad I went with Barnett.

If ya deecide to run the warrior clutch spring that has a litte more tension/strength then stock R* spring you wont have to dbl up on spring/s if your hesitant to do that.
With stock or close to stock setup/stock motor running a warrior spring should be a nice upgrade from weaker stock R* clutch spring due to the additonal holding strength the warrior clutch spring provides.
Thats what i would do vs dbl up using a different clutch sping on top of the old spring epsecially putting a used spring on top of used spring, just get a new warrior spring ($65-70) and be done with it unless your tight on bucks in which case i would understand going used spring over used spring.
But if you have considerably more power then stock due to aftermarket mods then i'd run the barnett clutch.

I saw a while back someone wrote about adding 'Shims' in addition to the Warrior spring. I don't remember who, maybe they'll chime in when they see this?

That is the new 2008+ Clutch pack setup. The original setup for the bikes had one "SPRING, CLUTCH BOSS" which is at the very bottom of the clutch stack. The new ones have two "SPRING, CLUTCH BOSS" on the bottom.
Shimming anything isn't good on these clutch with the diaphragm spring, as it'll just add more stress to the spring.

I shimmed the barnett set up spoke with barnett tech prior. I used two shims and have the heavy duty springs. I had the barnett in prior and felt some slippage still. I now feel no slippage and I'm very happy with the set up. I have well over 3000 miles on this latest change. I did the 9-11 ride which was a real test on the clutch. Try hour and a half at 10 miles per hour on a highway 3 times x 3 days in a row followed by 80-85 and everything in between. I know some people have no problem and very happy they don't. Some do and when I twist to pass that is what I want to do. A turn pike ride back from the last meet and greet made me want to find a solution. I installed an auto clutch by EMF and yes had a working clutch lever. This is where shims came to the front. The auto clutch works and is not for everyone. At between 2300 to 2500 you better be in the gear you want or able to drop rpm to get the gear. If you cruise and that is all you do perfect or a trike. Well that is my input and agree heavy duty spring is easy to get use to on the barnett gold stock green heavy duty and red racing. you can three and three per tech also. Red is recommended to stay for racing only but could be split with green. Although he felt that wasn't needed. I would agree.

Still not sure about the shimming, would you P.M. me some details?
So, you are still running the auto clutch, Correct?
