You're exactly right.

Grab rail alone was nearly $200.00

Here's the solution to your problem. HERE is a link to a thread on here with photos of suction cups on the stock passenger seat. Photos are at the bottom of the linked page.

For the rare occasion I have a passenger this set up works just fine. Those that have ridden back there tell me they can't really tell the seat isn't attached only with suction cups.

You MUST wipe the fender of all debis & dust.
Do NOT wet the suction cups prior to sticking.
Simply position the seat in place and give it a good downward shove.

The seat will NOT stick without a rider on it, so don't think that you can stick it on and take off. Vibration will cause the unladen seat to release and you'll never know exactly where on Interstate 20 it flew off!!

PM me if you have questions.

HERE is a link to some plugs that I used to fill the holes left by the bolts that I took out when I removed the seat.

Yamaha also makes some chrome ones, but I'm sure they're expensive and they just didn't blend in with my black bike.

Rich,

I noticed your handle didn't come anywhere close to $200 That sucks!. Could have just sold it to your Bro's here for $150 and been done with it!.

Mark,

I got a couple of those plastic push in fasteners and it looks great. The only thing that looks odd to me is the fender rails with the sissy bar mount empty. Since I don't have a grab handle to put there I was wondering If I could could remove the fender rails and just mount my bags with a spacer. I have some left over spacers from a previous project. They're probably just a wee bit narrower than the fender rails. I guess I"ll have to experiment a little and see what I can come up with.

Thanks for the suggestion on the plastic fasteners though!

Do your research, brotha. If somebody here said they wanted it, I would have given it away (like I normally do) to any of the Members here...

Maybe not to you, though...

R,

Hey sorry if I came off sounding like I was thumbing my nose at your auction. I hate using ebay for selling things sometimes, their fees are ridiculous now and when something doesn't sell for what you were expecting it makes it worse.

But wow my loss if I knew you would have given that away. (Not to me of course) LOL.

I thought when you posted in on page 3 of my thread here that you wouldn't take less than $200 +Shipping and I only needed the handle anyway.

Dysan:

No worries. I'm actually starting to hate Ebay...

The real background on this story is: I came here a couple of weeks ago begging for a set of fender trims for an upcoming magazine photo shoot, and I got a bit burned on what it cost me($125.00). Keeping in mind, I've given away two sets in the past year or so for free.

But, poor planning is expensive. Personally, somebody missed a good opportunity to do the right thing. So, I was just trying to take the sting out of my ass a little. Normally, I would have just given the stuff away here vs trying to sell it on Ebay.

And, if I had waited a day longer, a few that understand the "do the right thing" could have saved me a bundle. We have some really good guys here that offered me a set for free. But, I needed them yesterday. So...

If there's anything you need, and I have it, just let me know. I'm happy to help you.

Rich,

Thanks brother!. I have no doubt your good people and what make folks keep coming back to this site all the time. I'm sorry things didn't work out and nobody was able to step forward in your time of need as you have done for others so often. Damn Murphy's law man!. Never fails. Ya know when you don't need a particular part everyone has them to give away but the moment you need it. Where'd they all go!.

Appreciate ya man!.
