Dyna 3000 settings 6 Years, 4 Months ago
I have a 2001 RS with Cobra slash pipes; cobra jet kit; K&N BAK; AIS removed and I just installed a Dyna 3000. I set the RPM at 5000 and the Advance Curve at 34A. I did not set the Retard switches. Should I change the settings from the settings from Dyna? What exactly does the retart settings control? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Please email to johnnycpeterson@yahoo.com.
Thanks

jcp,

Was just answering a question like this on the RSR Forum, . Anywho;

Your 5000 rev limit is good. You can actually bump the curve up to 36A if you wish, 'safely'. The 'B' side of the settings is for folks running high compression pistons.

As far as the last 2 switches, (retard), , , it doesn't matter what positions they are in. 'If' you haven't re-wired the TPS, (Throttle Position Sensor), connector, then they are 'NON'-functional. The retard switches are for the folks that run Nitrous or a Blower. Set them anywhere.

Hope this helps,

Odo

Thanks for the info. I was worried the retard switches, if set wrong, could adversly affect performance. Thanks again for your response.
