I don't see how taking 4 more bolts out is all that much work. Use power/vacation tools and it wont be any work than pulling a trigger.

Yeah I guess so. I was just looking at it as one less thing. Besides I already stripped one of the allen head bolts trying to get one side off. I need to pick up a pair of channel locks and see if I can bite down on it and break it free. Then replace all those bolts with something else and perhaps use blue locktite instead of the red the factory used.

As heavy of steel these brackets are made out of I cant see the issue with cutting them off unless maybe your going w a heavy hard bag. Seems to me the entire fender and sub frame would have to be flexing if the bags did since thats what theyre bolted to. And I agree...they are a pain in the butt if u take them on and off often as I do since ur de&ling w foot pegs and pipes (depending on what pipes u have) . Put them on w/out bolting rhe arm to the frame and see what u think.

I would think that it will rattle and vibrate, but you never know till you try

put tape on the bracket where it bolts so u dont have metal to metal. Or just play w it w/out riding it and see how much it flex's w ur hands. I've forgotten to put the bolts in on one side of the arm before and nobody said "hey your bag is moving around". But they did say "whats that rattling noise"? Just a thought.
