2" Highway bar pegs 1 Year, 6 Months ago
|
|
|
recently i purchased a set of full sized 2" diameter highway bars on craigslist for a steal. I can't find pegs with a diameter big enough to go around them. Magnum clamps only go up to 1 1/2" in diameter. Nothing on ebay works nor general yahoo searches. My next option are footboard peg mounts. they mount underneath the footboards. I'd rather have my pegs on my crashbars.

I didn't know they had a 2" version - who makes them?

Never heard of 2" before either. Your ordeal might be why the PO let them go for cheap

maybe i'm measuring it incorrectly. I took a fabric measuring tape that tailers use and the bar is 4" round. so im assuming the pegs would have to be 2" in diameter to clamp around the bar. all the pegs on ebay and etc go up to 1 1/2" diameter. the bar is a OEM Yamaha highway bar. it has the Star symbol engraved and all. its a nice sturdy solid crashbar.

Thats the circumference your measuring which is Pi (3.14) x diameter. So divide the circumference by Pi and get your diameter. 4/3.14= 1.27 blah blah so I would say your bars are 1-1/4" MATH NERD!

That is incorrect.
A bar with a circumference of 4" has a diameter of about 1.25"

4" divided by 3.14 equals 1.27, should be 1.25" diameter.
