110 Mph (176 Km/h) out on the level, (alongside a KZ1000 Kawi for high speedometer reading )
Chickened out, but I think she woulda done a bit more, although you could tell she was starting to run out of torque-band steam.
Probably never try that again though, once was enough for me.

I had that beautiful BEAST up to 115MPH with more power left but the vibrations were getting pretty close to the nervous mark and also the lower half of my windshield fliped back which put a quick end to my adrenalin rush which I was going to slow anyway! TOO MUCH OF ANYTHING CAN TURN INTO A PROBLEM! Especially when your ripping it up at those speeds!HAHA I probably wont do that again. It was last year on a sunny October day on the ocean Parkway at Jones Beach in Long Island, its a smooth straight road which stretches for miles, no one else on the road which is common after the beach closes so its always an ideal place to test the BEAST! Normally I would never tempt those speeds on a crowded highway.

RIDE SAFE AND LOOK OUT FOR SOCCER MOMS ON CELL PHONES! HAHAHA

speaking of gear changes. It does seem that the roadie could use a 6th gear for highway riding. Has anybody ever managed to put a six speed on a roadie?

Hey, I'm both stupid, and curious

Windshield and bags: 120
stripped down w/just me :120

No reason to lie, and yes, I know that "corrected" it's probably about a buck twelve, but a buck twenty just sounds better.

Serious disclaimer: don't ride like a complete idiot in the company of others, save your Hooligan actions for "safe" areas. (yes that's an oxymoron). BB

Trans questions 4 Years, 7 Months ago
I have an '02 Roadstar and after alot of research I am still unsure if I need to talk to the dealer regarding the dreaded warranty work on the transmission. The bike does not have the stamp above the serial number that would lead me to believe it has been repaired. The bike now has 11K on it and so far no problems. All serial numbers I have had access to would lead me to believe this bike was not one that should be serviced. Ideas, advice???? Thanks in advance.

To be quite frank, I was miserable! Not RK's fault, by any means, I just should have listened to my gut. Never, Never switch from what is working, to something new in the middle of a trip. Never! Esp. a seat. It was his PCS seat, which would probably work if I was shorter, and not so.........big. The seat sort of "pockets" you, but I need room to move around. I haven't seen him on here since my return, so I had not made arrangements yet to get it back to him. Live and learn , I guess. But I can say, I really thought highly of his gesture, as he doesn't know me from Adams house cat (besides here, obviously).Good guy, that RK. But, Looks like it's the stocker for me, until something better comes along . BB

Check with any Dealer, they can let you know if it has been done, by checking their computers. Easy as that. They want to fix those bikes, and while they are in there, have em' put in the better oil pump gear. BB
