Completed Stage 1 Exhaust Mod 1 Year, 3 Months ago
I completed the Stage 1 exhaust modification this weekend and I am very pleased with the results!! The bike sounds much better and is running most excellent! After removing the cone, I drilled eight 1/2" holes right from the start after reading the comments by others who had performed the modification.

Thanks for all the help and information....this site rocks!

I started keeping track of the money I have spent since I bought the bike last year (chrome, seats, clothing, etc) and gave up! It is a good thing my wife loves to ride with me.....otherwise I would have to work a 3rd job to feed the habit!

It looks like you have added some nice stuff already. The luggage rack, ISO grips, upgraded seat, awesome hard bags (I have been a fan of those for a while now), tank bra....

I would say the addiction has set in

I also finished the phase one exhaust mod this weekend and it was really very simple. The exhaust sounds great. Not to loud....just right. Thanks for the mod instructions. The cone was kinda hard to get out. persaverance always pays off.

That's OK ! Your still ahead about $12,000. Could have bought a HD instead...
Now your Roadie is starting to take on its own personality... Doesn't look like most HDs do. GO ROADSTAR !!!!!!!!!!!!

I did my work done with stage one mod
What I did is took the cone out ( its pain in the ass)
Then I drill with eletrical 1/2 hole saw ( for 1/2 emt conduit fitting . did 4 holes as clock wise 12:00 , 3:00 , 6:00 and 9:00 . then did paint it black .
Man sounds sweet loud low tone rumble. It like two in two dooley sounds. My friend said man man man sure did get my hearing aid battery running dead
