A good day gone bad 4 Years, 7 Months ago
I had the opportunity to help judge a bike show this sunday, my first.
After returning home I get a call making sure I had made it home safe. Then was told of this tragedy. Really sad..

I hope you guys will remember the families involved, and also my lady she was one of the first on the scene after the accident, not sure she will ride again she is really shaken up.

I hate hearing of these things. People just out enjoying themselves getting injured or killed because of someone who can't be bothered to pay attention. I hope your lady gets past this and can enjoy riding again.

Bad news, happens all over much too often. Can't hardly blame your wife, scary stuff to see for sure.

Terrible, terrible tragedy. My thoughts and prayers will certainly be with you guys, Scottie Sexton's family/friends as well as for Amanda Wilson to have a quick and complete physical recovery.

Unfortunately it's an almost daily occurance in the US . Be it an inattentive cager , an animal or what have you. We're targets out there, pure and simple. My condolences to Scottie's family and hopefully Amanda will recover and forge ahead in his memory.

Both families have my prayers as well.
I do hope your wife will still ride and not overly worry about you riding.
I almost lost my right leg in a similar accident on Easter in 1975.
Took me 30 years and 2 months before I could own and ride a motorcycle again.

Thank you all for the kind words and prayers. Just heard the lady on the bike will make a complete recovery, she has a skull fracture, but no permanant damage. Although her helmet was destoyed it did save her life no doubt.

I hope each of us realizes how quickly things can happen and be as safe as possible. It always takes away a part of you when a brother is taken.

Thanks again

Re:A good day gone bad 4 Years, 7 Months ago
Bummer . My best friend and his wife were out enjoying the day back in 2000, when he was hit head on by a Woman not paying attention. Killed his wife, He and I watched her die, it was Very hard. He does ride again now, but it took some time. Sorry your Wife/Girlfriend had to view that. I do feel it's easier for guys to handle that type of trauma, but it is still difficult. I tell my wife I love her every day, and we both ride defensively. Sometimes I'm jealous of my riding buddies, because they seem to ride without a care in the world, where Wendy and I are constantly looking around, checking mirrors, and basically planning escape routes. It's a choice we make, and we accept the potential risk that come with it. BB
