Only cams that I know of that fit are re-grinds. Yamaha no longer makes the speedstar cams as per my dealer. Unless some dealer has a set stashed away in the back. Might want to check with Patrick Racing if they have cams (new) or Baron's Customs. Other than that, I only know one person that does the regrinds. BTW, he does regrinds that will work with stock pistons and regrinds for HC pistons. The speedstar cams are made to work with HC pistons.

So are you thinking the Warrior cams would fit a 1700?

Yes warrior cams will fit the 1700, My winter project is taking my 08FI to full stage III, which is speedstar cams (these cams are the same part number for the warrior and roadstar 1700) Speedstar racing intake manifold, the speedstar 45mm throttle body, speedstar hc pistons and speedstar valve springs. I have new lifters and all the parts are on the workbench waiting for me to stop riding to do the install. I just need to order the 1700 top end gasket kit. while I have it a part, I will be romoving my batwing and installing a road glide fairing. It's painted and ready for install as well.

Camming a 1600 is a different bird, I would strongly recommend Don at the link listed above. He probably has the most 1600 cam knowledge on the forums. Only other solid option is to deal with Patrick Racing

Well now..........that's sounds interesting

Looks like it would be a good project. I will be interested in hearing about any wind buffeting differences between the two fairings.

Wind buffeting is the real reason I am going with the road glide fairing
