Welcome to the forum, Uncle Mark. I had just read your introduction and that bike of yours sounds like a honey! Here's a link to the big bore kits you're talking about:
http://www.pacificcoaststar.com/pcs/monsterroadstar.htm

With as much torque as these 1700's have, I can't imagine what the 2000 would feel like! Wonder if you'd need to go with a different set of cams for that setup?

Anyway, welcome to the group. Good to chat with someone from across the big pond!

pday

Re:Big Bore Kits 6 Years, 3 Months ago
uncle mark,

I have had the Patrick Racing 110 cu.in. big bore set up along with the full Yamaha Stage IV Speedstar kit for the last year and the performance increase (seat of pants dyno) is great!!! I will get it dynoed this year as soon as I get back on my feet from my second hip replacement in the last 13 months.

Visit the Patrick Racing web site ( patrick-racing.com ) as they provide the 122 cu.in. big bore kit. It requires case boring and considerable additional expense over the 110 cu.in. set up which only requires cylinder boring and sleeving.

It was worth drooling over...but/...toooooooo rich for my wallet!

If you go 108 or 110 cu.in. you only need the Mikuni 42mm flatslide carb AND good high octane gas (91 or higher octane).

Good luck and ride safe!
