Headlight bulbs re-addressed 4 Years, 7 Months ago
Lost my forth highbeam on this last roadtrip, at 12,000 miles. Nothing is modified on the wiring harness, etc.. Beginning to wander if there is a ground not quite doing its job. Where should I look? Thanks,BB.

In the wiring.

You'll have to check out the light wiring diagram in the back of the manual. Start from the headlight and work back. Pay particular attention to the connectors, especially if you have ever taken the pins out.

10-4 Doc. Funny thing is that besides changing the bulb, I've never fiddled with any of the wires associated with the lighting. Just thought if there was a suspect ground to look for, I'd start there. Thanks, BB.

I can't help much with the highbeam as I rarley use it. With the silverstar and the passing lamps I have all the light I need for the speeds I ride at night. So the higbeam burning out may be a endemic problem that I'm just not aware of.

Wow. I said endemic I think that's the first time I ever used that word.

(...........Big Bear gets out his Dictionary)

OK, now I'm up to speed. Fun as I actually ran it less on this trip than I do normally. If I wasn't leading (1 in 4 chance), I ran the low beam. Oh ,well, guess my oil changes will cost 13 bills more than the rest of you alls, As I'll need 4 quarts, a filter, and an H4 please. BB

I don't think I've ever used my high beam, when I switch to high the passing lamps go out so I don't do it. I don't even know if my high beam works now that I think about it.

Musky do you happen to recall what the silverstar # is for the headlights. I have an 07 silverado and wanted to go to silverstars on it.

Hey LE

You can get the H4ST or the 9003ST. Same bulb.

You changed out the handlebars. I guess you never disconnected the controls.
