Vance & Hines baffles ? 1 Year, 3 Months ago
Is there any way to quiet down V&H Longshots. I have the baffles installed .but it is still too loud for me . Do the V&H quiet baffles really work? does anyone know to make a homemade glass packed baffle that would work? I want a litle sound ,but mine are way too loud. Thanks in advance for any response.....

Salty

I just put a pair of the V&H Quiet Baffles in my LongShots. Like you the stock LongShots with the original baffles installed were just too loud and the deceleration sound was very tinny. Don't ask me to describe tinny but it didn't sound good. I am extremely pleased with the quiet baffles. They still have a rumble but it is a deeper throaty sound. The deceleration sound is completely different. I love it. As you can see I am a newbie here also. Welcome aboard. This is the best forum on the web with a great bunch of people.

In the upper right hand corner you will see a tab with your name on it. Click on that and it will open the PM screen

I wonder if you could wrap a thin sheet of fiber glass or steel wool around the baffles to quiet it down some. It would need to be really thin, though as I don't think there is alot of room to work with.

Where did you get your V & H quiet baffles and how do you install them. I'm new to the cruiser scene. I just got a 2000 RS with the Longshots and my first crank woke half the neighborhood.

salty,
what is the part number for the V&H quiet baffles? Some of my riding buddies don't want to ride beside or behind me because of my pipes.
