Flashback,
Sorry for the delay. I just saw your message. Is there an easy way to tell when somebody posts a response to me?
Anyway, to answer your question: Yep, I'm pumpless. However, I am also running an HSR42 carb that is set up for pumpless operation.
I have eliminated the gas tank rollover valve and tubing, and increased the diameter of the tank vent. But I haven't done anything to the gas cap (venting).
The only thing different I notice, is that when I need to switch to reserve on the gas tank, I'd better get to a gas-station very soon.
Let me know if you were asking something I didn't answer.
Hope this helps.

Mornin Randy, What is the rollover valve and tube, and how did you increase the vent hole? By the way, I snuck around your web site,,,awsome,,, I'm sure you will get tired of me picking your brain.

The rollover valve lets the air in and out of the gas tank. The valve looks like a small in-line gas filter. If you follow the tank vent tube you'll eventually stumble across it. Folks sometimes take it out as it sticks and can cause the tank to implode.
To increase the size of the vent hole you need to straighten the vent tube and drill the hole larger. Not for the feint of heart.

Thanks Doc, I guess I will give it a shot, how does one go about straightening the vent pipe, is it soft steel that can be bent without tearing it loose from the tank? also drilling it could possibly cause it to blow up. that would be really fun keep the bit oiled..

I used a pair of pliers and slowly bent it straight. You can only do it a few times before the vent breaks off.
I used a larger bit and drilled right through to the other end of the tube. Inside the tank, the vent tube vents from the side of the tube, not the bottom. I did break a bit in the tube so be very careful not to flex the bit side to side. It's a bitch to get a broken bit out.
When you're done bend, the tube back to the original position.

Doc, Im a little confused as to what you mean when you say Inside the tank, the vent tube vents from the side of the tube, not the bottom. does that tube actually continue after it enters the wall of the tank..?

Yes the tube goes through the tank; it's not a tube attached to the top of the tank.
