Sometimes just throwing a bunch of high performance parts at an engine does not guarantee an engine that will perform up to expectations. What you did with lightening and balancing the crankshaft and changing the rods was to better match the pistons to the engine. Good job!

I remember when buddies of mine would buy an advertised Crane cam,850 Holly double pumper and bolt it to a stock 350 and then they would wonder why it would stumble and lull off the line.

Yes experience and knowledge =trial and error=$ is what makes it work.

Sounds like Starjack has a handle on it, thats awesome)

Have fun ,ride safe!

Not dynoed yet but the seat of the pants dyno is awesome. Its nothing to peg the speedo,
Its hard to believe such a big motorcycle can run like that. If I had my wishes granted I
would love to have this motor in a Yamaha MT01... as soon as time comes to dyno I will for
sure post the results.

Second thought, I dont believe the HP numbers are going to be as impressive as the speed
in which the motorcycle can accelerate,I did not bore bigger. The more horse power the more heat now you are riding bar to bar and you still have to get it to the ground if you can get the tire to hook up & with out breaking drive belts. I still want to ride state to state with out excessive heat and good gas mileage and to be able to corner as good as a r* can

This 17 will burn all the way through 2nd if you ask it to I think that
is awesome. I have been hanging around bikes for 40 years and riding them, it don't matter the Hp
you blow the tire I am gone and you are kicking rocks. I have seen a xv 16 annihilate a pit bull
mastiff from a dead stop and beyond aren't those s&s motors 123 ci> you tell me.. I never see those
bikes going anywhere except bar to bar, where roadies are every where I have ever ridden.
