Newbie Questions 2 Years, 10 Months ago
I 've pretty much decided on the first mods for my Roadie.I hope someone will help make them easier. First how much of a riser and/or pull back will I need for a set of drag type handlebars? Second, I like the K2 pipes from Hard Chrome as well as the Kuryakin Hypercharger. How well does anyone know these manufacturers and will I get the "advertised" performance gains. Your thought and views are appreciated..

I have the K2 pipes and I love them. As for the sound, they have a great tone to them and I have recieved many compliments. The only thing is that their very loud. My riding buddys make me ride last so they dont get blasted. They say its not too bad for short rides, but on long rides they say it gets a little annoying being behind me.
As for the performance..... I put them on right from the get go. So I have nothing to compare them to.
As for drag bars, I have the set that Yamaha makes. They arn't true drag bars as far as I'm concerned, but they have a 3 1/2" riser, then they have a 3" pullback. The bars themselves are not straight accross, " which is what I think of as being true drag bars" These have a slight angle back to them, these are very comfortable bars, never got tired on long rides.
Anyway, I hope I've helped you. If I could figure out how to insert pics I'd show you. Any way...good luck and happy riding. ROTO

Hey guys rhanks alot for the welcome and the opinions. Wifey Poo wants a set of wheels too so she'll be riding a V Star 1100. An ol budof mine is the head wrencher at the dealership and his advice was to put 600 or miles on the bikes before we start tweakin' Hopefully the deal will close by Friday and I'll post some pics soeveryoone can watch the transformation.
Stay Safe
