Does it ever plug up and inhibit the venting of the tank?
The valve doesn't... but sometimes spiders crawl up there create those little spider homes... which then clog up with crud.

Ok. I'm stumped here. What the hell is the "roll over valve" that everyone talks about?
I looked in the tech section and can't find anything about it.
What is it?
What does it do?
Can I eliminate it?
If so what will that do?
thanks for any help
John

I,like Nightstar57, had mine stick last spring on a trip to Arkansas from Minnesota at a gas stop. Could not get the gas cap off for the longest time. Finally got the cap off discovering that there was a huge vaccum in the tank. Thought it might be the roll-over valve remembering I had read something about it on this site. When I got back home and cleaned the bike up, I found about a 1/16 inch deep depression about 3 inches by 3 inches in the tank located on the lower right side of the speedo chrome cover. Not a happy camper. My roll-over valve is gone and wished I had done it sooner.

MY STOCK 2006 1700 lacked power and it got 28-32 M.P.G: by removing the rollover valve and the AIS added a Dyna 3000 and removed the stock exhaust added straight pipes mileage went up to 36 m.p.g. "It still lacked power"
Installed a aftermarket breather and a mikuni #172.5 main with a dynojet needle e clip on #4 jet with a #45 pilot jet M.P.G rose to 38-42 M.P.G. but during hard take offs the rear wheel would some how slide sideways to the right a full 2 ft. + during a burn-out /take off....it would make the south end pucker up alittle bit! at that time we knew it had the power we wanted.....so we left the stock 32 pulley alone.
in other words get rid of the smog crap it's a bunch of crap-ola ! role over valve included...
4 yrs. later... We needed more power and easier main jet changes and better throttle responce, so we installed the HSR42 mikuni yost power tube ported the stock manifold added a Forcewinder breather and a 31 tooth drive pulley, by removing the fuel pump... I started growing more hair on top of me head... by removing the straight pipes and installing a 2 into 1 Thunderheader exhaust, i can now pull a wheelie but it's not good on the front end.
We sometimes can be our own worse enemy!

bought a Thunderheader exhaust on Ebay motors, I cut off 11 inches of the the slip on end and welded it to a 2 into 1 collector, clamped onto the header pipes. fabricated a an extension mounting bracket off the Cobra mount bracket for the Thunderheader muffler.
Also added a 1/4 x 1 1/4 x 32 inch flat bar extension above the muffler to attach a 7 ft. pole to fly a 3x5 American Flag.... during PGR Events.
I like to be different from everyone else....
so check out my 8 ea. videos in my youtube library just above the video screen click here to get there.... http://youtu.be/z0M-U-Q8jrU click on the number 8 to view all videos in library.
