jet size 2 Years, 10 Months ago
Howdy! I'm new to the site, but have been reading posts for a while now. I like the way the star family helps each other. Now, my turn for a question. I thought i would do most of my mods at one time. I have Codra deluxe slash pipes, a Kuryakyn Hypercharger Pro-R, a fuel pump relocation kit, and am going to remove the AIS. I'm at a total loss for which size jets to use when I rejet the carb. I live close to Houston, Tx. (don't know the elevation ) Anybody have any suggestions? 2005 Roadstar Silverado 1700

Post edited by: Snag, at: 2006/03/11 20:51

Welcome to the Clinic.

Did you get a jet kit with the air clearner? What size jets did they provide?

or

What brand jet kit did you buy?

Make sure you remove the AIS as with the new pipes you will hear a lot of popping in the exhaust.

From the jet sizes it looks like you have the Mikuni jets. Did you also get a needle with the jets?

I'd try the smallest jet (175) but from my experience it will probably be too rich. I'd recommend a 172.5 with the needle on the third groove from the top (blunt end). PMS about 3 turns out.
