2009 RoadStar S Horsepower??? 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Anyone know what the horsepower is on a 2009 RoadStar S vs. a 2011 FatBoy? I've done my share of looking on Google and thought to ask the pro's here .... AzaleaRider!

I believe the stock 2009 (and all FI RoadStars) have 84HP and 100 ft.lbs of torque.

That sounds high. I think 1600's have 64 hp. 1700s have 72 hp, but I don't know what the FI models since '07 rate.

Someone will chime in though... maybe someone here has even had one dynoed.

I also understood the 84/100 numbers were at the crank.

Yamaha advertises 87hp 102ft-lbs for the 1700

Harley advertises 96ft-lbs for the Twin Cam 96ci and 101ft-lbs with the 103ci. HD does not advertise their HP ratings, but I've heard anywhere from 65hp to 85hp depending on the year/model etc.

I've never seen Yamaha as 87hp anywhere. go to the Yamaha site, go to speed star accessories, they show the dyna charts for each of the stages and shows the stock numbers as well.

Common sense, everything is the same except the FI, air box, pipes are still the same, FI is not gonna add that kind of HP, no way a 40% increase because of FI. Just ain't gonna happen.

Well, whatever it is... it's adequate, and great fun to ride.

I pulled my numbers from "memory" and Erb corrected 'em... so much for my rememberer!

Heck, I turn 58 next month........

I think it is like 64 HP / 99 lbs., and that 84 and +100 is for the warrior.
