TOPIC: oil leak

oil leak 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago  
At 1 time i over filled the oil by not taking one of the drain plugs out and putting the usual amount of oil in it. well corrected that but now ever since that dumb mistake the bike experiences an occasional leak out that breather cap as i go down the raod - its like all of a sudden its not pumping and all the oil is held in the oil tank. has anyone had this - getting ready to do the clutch spring setup and wondered if an oil pump gear and shaft should be replaced on this o7 roadie with 27 k miles

buschman, the '07 model would already have the heavier oil pump gear.

To make things clear what "oil breather cap" are you referring to? If you mean the crankcase vent hose then during this time of the year it's not uncommon to see some oily condensation dump out of there every so often. If it's the screw in dipstick is the O'ring there?
