Here is a link to what I want to get.

RSE--

If that's what you want, I have a spare cover and filter. It's not the plain chrome like that, though...it's a Speedstar kit from Yamaha and has the Road Star logo on the plate: http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/accessories/acscitemdetail/5/18/91/2330/all/1/4013/6/detail.aspx

It fits in the stock airbox back, and I have one of those, too, all plugged up and ready to go, so no mods necessary. Let me know if you're interested.

Hey thanks for the offer Roadkill. I'll have to pass. I'm doing the badgeless thing on my bike. I want to get a new paintjob later on down the road, and do a fat tire conversion, to make her a little more custom, but not too custom to not be considered a roadstar anymore.

Stupid me. Barons BAK comes with a K&N air filter. So the next question is, how hard is it to get those jets in and set? I'll go look for a how to on this site, but if anyone can tell me if they have done it themselves and and personal pointers. I'd gladly accept the advise. I'm off to sears to grab a motorcycle jack. SWEET

If you have drilled out your pipes to at least stage 2 or bought different pipes then it's worth doing the poormans BAK or getting an aftermarket airkit.
Just something I thought you might find funny... I had a 'poor mans' BAK done to my bike,.... when Yami took it in to fix the 'SVS'....I went to pick it up the next day. They threw me the keys, said it was outside, go fire it up and see how it sounds to ya. While I was standing there warming it up, the 'tech' said...oh, by the way, we found a bunch of 1/2 inch holes around the back of the airbox.... but dont worry , we 'JB' welded them back in for ya. Have a nice day.

If they would have charged me for it, or regardless, I would have come undone. See the techs go snooping around and fix (BREAK) stuff they don't need to be touching. What a nice little jury rig to your bike. I'm not sure what I would have done. Maybe wait for the tech to leave work for the evening......

Just another reason that I AM THE ONLY ONE THAT TOUCHES MY BIKE. PERIOD. Well you guys can touch it, but that's as far as I go.

Yea Richard I do my own also ... it was just that Yami corp. agreed to pull the heads and clean the valves and all for free (out of warranty). So I couldnt refuse. It was just the one time I thought I was gonna get out of a 'stealership' with nooo problems. LOL Well, I almost did. P.S. that JB' Weld is harder to drill than the original plastic.

That's gotta be one of the funniest things I've heard in a while. I'm still laughing.
