True? Yamaha wont' release Paint codes??? 1 Year ago
So I'm trying to get a few rough estimates on getting my batwing painted and one place I stopped in told me that with all the Motorcycle manufactureres the Paint codes are like a guarded secret, that they won't release them. He said they've tried calling the dealer and even giving them a vin# but they still won't give up the code.

If that's true how the heck am I going to get my Fairing painted. I think that's BS and I hope the guy is way wrong on this.

My 2008 Roadie is a Dark Blue metallic. like this one:

I'm hoping someone has some info on the paint codes or any other ideas I might try. They told me matching it was never going to come out right that the only way to make sure it was a 100% match was to get the paint and bring it to them.

Go to colorite.com and go through their Paint Wizard. Found mine in about 30 sec.. My painter has never had a problem on finding or matching my paint.

I have a friend who bought a Red Roadliner. He then ordered A fairing and Beetle Bags from Corbin. They came prepainted and you cannot find one shade of difference in the factory and the Corbin. So somebody is turning loose of the codes.

This is just a wild guess, but check the VIN numbers on the bike...should be on the registration also. The paint color(number) may be there somewhere in the VIN code.

The chart below has a comment field. I wonder if the one marked Bluish Black#2 is for the wheel color? What does that mean?

If Code 0996 is the one I need it requires a base #1254. A pint of each will run me over $250 bucks!. Seriously?

The paint code is on a sticker on the front of the A pillar brace.

Is it the same sticker that has the VIN#? IF so I took a pic of it this morning and there is not reference to a paint code anywhere on it. Just GVW references, Cold Tire Pressure recommendations, Build date, Vin.

Yes sir its not cheap and the wheel one is for the cast wheels. I just paid $50 for a rattle can because no one could be sure they could match my color on the first try on my 08 grey.
