Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm ........... Now I'm wondering why the better half is eager to go for a long ride! Here I thought it was my companionship

Quick question for ya ..... run carb empty after ride? and do you shut off fuel for winter storage? I've heard leaving the bowl full keeps things from drying out!

NJADATD, we used to winterize water crafts with Stabil in the tank (running them till some of the Stabil got into the carbs, naturally), and pulling the plugs and fogging the cylinders with Aerosol Stabil Or the like products, then reinstall the plugs. I personally don't winterize mine, but to get more hits, you might start a fresh post on winterizing. BB

THANKS ..... BB I used Stabil in the tank, but I'm not sure about putting MMO into cylinders, you'll never know when the temp might jump up enough for a ride! I'll look into the archives for the fuel shut off ............

I've done both .... the empty tank and full tank with Stabil (I dump the tank of fuel in the lawnmower in the spring).

Either way you need to run the carb dry and drain the fuel bowl. If you keep fuel in the carb it gums up the jets and orifices over the winter.

NJADATD I keep stal-bil in mine all winter but I also ride when the
weather allows. The Bike runs ok but it can sure stink sometimes,it don't
hurt it. also keep a smart charger hooked up . But if you put it up for a couple of months then do what Doc said.

I find that mine does not run well with it but it could be just the old gas. That's why I throw it in the lawnmower.

Re:Vibration 4 Years, 6 Months ago
My scoot is almost exactly the same way, 06 with Cobras, BAK, AIS off, at sea level. I find a slightly annoying buzz at around 68 indicated in 5th, and it is gone by ~71 indicated, it returns at around 79 indicated and is gone at 82 indicated. For me it "indicates" a harmonic resonate frequency of the engine. I have checked all engine mount bolts, floor boards and actually any bolt I can get a wrench on. It is the nature of the beast, it buzzes to let us know it is alive. Still nothing like the old BSA twin I road back in the early 70's.
