Ok...Stock standard machine. Start her up, no problem. Idle for couple of minutes and off I go. Guaranteed 1 or 2 minutes later will start spluttering, missing, back firing and all those other annoying things. Pull over switch off, restart after bout a minute, and no more problems till next time.

It's not "what" you ride, it's "that" you ride.

Might be SVS Run some Seafoam, Ringfree, or MMO in the gas and see if it helps. You can do that gradually over time or you could do a shock treatment. What is your riding style? Do you run it out through each gear? It's easy to carbon these bikes up by running low RPM's. I think alot of people ride around 1 gear too high. Regular gas?

Rascal...same bike here..and exact same problem when my svs started. Like musky said , run a cleaner thru the gas, 87 octane only, and hit the rev limiter during the coarse of the day. That'll shake her loose..the carbon that is. good luck, it's fixable..just a pain in the arse.
