Any comments on the oem yamaha belt compared to the carlisle after market belt ?

OEM are okay but have been known to lose some teeth. Carlisle are very good I hear.

sorry, can't compare, I'm still with stock belt. But low miles for an "01" only 146k. LOL

got 21 thou on mine stock belt and sqweals like a pig when it gets dirty. Keep it clean. Gonna get the gates belt soon.

service manual calls for change at 60k. Remove rear wheel, pull swingarm bolt out enough to get belt around it. I don't think swingarm bolt has to come out all the way tho, I could be wrong on this tho, just what I had read over the yrs.

Erbman, you need to get out and ride more! That bike isnt even broke in yet.

Yeah I know, didn't ride much yesterday, maybe 200. Another 150 today, going up to Bushnell National Cemetery visit my dads grave site. Next week it will be a zoo there, especially on Monday when they do the Memorial services. last yr, turned around when I realized it would take an hour to go the last mile, uh-uh, ain't gonna happen this yr, so plan to leave in a few minutes.

Erbman,

I've just pulled the trigger on a S&S/Gates X3N carbon fibre reinforced belt. Made to resist snapping from high torque engines.

Something to consider.
