Vibrations???? 1 Year ago
So, I know quite a few have said they have a bit of vibrations. Of course some vibes can be due to improper jetting, but lets rule that out. I know I have a perfectly sealed intake, properly sealed exhaust as well. All in all, I have no major issues with the bike, however, every once in a while I notice some excessive vibes, and not all the time, I just never wrote up anything on this issue. Today I took a hwy ride to visit my dads grave, traveled mostly 70 to 80mph, bout 40, 50 miles in each direction. Going there, my right hand got numb from the vibes, nothing to the left hand, but maybe that was due to giving the finger to so many idiots. Naaa, just kiddin. LOL. But the trip back, all was fine, no tingling to either hand. Hmmmm, So trying to figure out what could be causing this, and the only thing I can think of is the crank. First off, the darn thing is heavy to start, and of course there is some amount of tolerence's. So I'm thinking, when it first comes to the crank shaft turning, could it be that it found the sweet spot of the tolerence factor, and the centrifugal force of turning keeps it in place, and lessens the vibe factor? This is not the first time I've noticed this. There was a time where I felt more vibes, so pulled over, shut down, then restarted and vibes were greatly reduced. To me, this is by no way a major issue, but more out of curiosity as to what does this. You know it's like all bikes will have this harmonic distortion at a certain rpm and speed and vibes will appear a bit more. So thats why I think the crank is just a bit off on certain times, and yet shut down, restart and all is good.

ive noticed mine go numb randomly also, have arlem ness comfort cut grips, and even a "cramp buster" but the right still goes numb. i always contributed it to the right never gets a rest where the left comes down to wave, scratch, and just hang there. i did notice a HUGE difference in vibes when i went to the new grips. the stock grips just plain suck. i will say that when it happens, since i have that cramp buster i can lay my hand across the grips and still keep on the gas while moving my fingers and that seems to help it alot.

Happens to me too but I always figured it was just part of riding. Cramp buster doesn't help me a whole lot but I do have the brake away cruise control which does help since I can let go completely to rest my hand. Of course it isn't great on hills but I only use it occasionally anyway.

Thought I was the only one of a select few to experience that. Throttle hand goes numb after 20 minutes or so. Tried loosening my grip but still there after shaking it off. Gotta be age.

i have a vibration that starts somewhere in the mid to higher RPM's. happens in every gear and is especially noticable in first and second due to the lower speeds. happened shortly after a rejetting with the Dynojet kit. i have been playing around with it ever since with no change in vibes just the rideability of the bike. am just about at wits end and am probably going to have it dyno'd to see if that can resolve the problem unless someone else has a better idea.
