The projects button is below the picture of my bike, scroll to the bottom of the second page past the pictures of the carb and the downloads are there. You did click on the blue "My Site" text on this post to get to the site , RIGHT?

curt, for some reason, I cannot see the link for your projects and get to the instructions for system shock treatment using Seafoam or a simular product. So, if you would please, send the link to my email, ardy1958@sbcglobal.net

I have completed Step 1 - Step 3 (as layed out on Curt's SVC post) I am now ready to begin with Step 4, but feel a little unsure of my knowledge at this point, but will read through all the articles on Carb and see if I can figure out what to do. I also ran through a partial tank of seafoam in the tank and in the oil before changing oil this afternoon. Thanks Doc for your help with this, and to everyone else that contributed. I will post more results in a few weeks. Rob

==================

Rob,great start so far and stick with it!!

With all the experienced guys here in RSC have i bet you will get it all squared away,it will just take some time & effort following the suggestions/advice on what to do that will hopefully get your bike running better.

When you get it running right it would be great to pull your bike up in front of the dealer or shop that said your motor was tired needing a rbld and wind it up ,drop the clutch ,and then do nice but short 4k rpm burnout (staying just under your 1600's rev limit) in his parking lot .

Then when leaving the shop hit it good thru a few gears so he can see & hear just how good its running after they told you the motor needed a rbld.

Good luck & keep the updates comming!

Scott

Dealer mechanics are fine but it'll cost you $$$ for their expertise. Here you'll get (IMO) better advice for free. The mechanics go on factory specs and direction. Chances are if any ride it ain't a lot of R*'s. Many of us are quite intimate with our rides and have an appreciation for these machines Mama Yama will never understand. Shared some mod ideas with dealership mechs and got "really?".
