Just carry a spare fuel line, it should be enough to get ya home. May not be able to go WOT, might drain the float bowl to quick. Then again, it is a cruiser, and I promise you this, where ever you are going, it will be there when ya get there.

Well Erbman you may have just changed my thinking on a few things. I was considering porting my manifold ,going pumpless and removing the AIS,but now I'm thinking about how happy I am with the way it runs as it is maybe I should just leave it alone.

Re:STOP!!!! 11 Months, 4 Weeks ago
I was just talking on another thread about the leave-well-enough-alone approach. My carb was giving me trouble for the first couple tanks of gas. So I rode her for a few hundred more miles, seafoamed it, and now she's happy again.

Now there's nothing wrong with carrying some back-up items. Depends on where you're going and how good the cell reception is. And I always carry a tool kit with a few more tools than I would ever need in it. Hey, maybe someone else on the road will need that particular sized wrench. The ONE(!) time I left the house without that tool kit I needed it.

+1 on the waiting a month before trips after upgrades. From experience.

You make some good points there Erbman however I would prefer to do my own work instead of paying a dealer and to me there is no better teacher than experience. There are alot of folks who do not want to do the work and can afford to take it to the dealer when they have a problem as well as some who just plain need to do other things with their time. Then there is my group who just plain love to "Fix" things that might be a problem down the road ,"Mods",etc. .It is how I became familiar with my bikes different systems.Even if it aint broke I just might screw it up more by trying to "Fix" it and go through all the phases to get to I just plain enjoy screwing with it till it is how I want it.I normally do not comment on much and if you talk them outta screwing with things I will not have anything to read .I enjoy reading some of the creative ways people find to either fix a problem or coexist with it.I did enjoy your article and hope you feel better .

Have a safe holiday all.......Coug

Thanks for the shot of reality Erbman. Having mileage issues right now but it's under warranty and runs good otherwise. The Midwest M&G is only a month away so I'll concentrate on packing instead of wrenching.

I always felt funny flaunting my preference for leaving the bike as stock as possible around here thanks for the opinion Erb.
My bike has never failed me or ever failed to satisfy my need for some power.

My one and only problem with all you said is dammit Im a hotrodder, I CANT leave well enough alone
