Re:Choke cable 1 Year, 2 Months ago

Well I did it yesterday at work(man, are we slow.... ) Rode it home and then back to work today (about 50miles roundtrip I can tell it winter 40degrees this morning!) did not notice any difference. BTW I relocated my fuel pump and made a bracket to hold the crankcase breather and choke in between the cylinders. (got to show a pic)
FYI

Thanks smhowse
So I will assume that like CB's cable yours went in farther (Yes? No?) but didn't make any difference.
So that would mean that once it reaches a certain a point any further travel won't make any difference?
Or maybe if you only have a slight problem to begin with it won't be as noticable whith this mod.
Or.....Or.....Or......HELP

Hi Musky, Don't know how your carb end of the cable hooks up, but on mine, the sheath just sits inside a tube so when the actual choke mechanism is completly closed, the knob will continue to go in and the sheath will begin to rise out of the tube,, guess what I'm saying is the knob will always go to it's stop, and the opposite end of the cable, the carb end begins to rise out of it's socket.. sometimes the more I type, the more I confuse myself...

Flashback, you're running a 42 or 45 mm Carb correct? As opposed to our 40mm. Does your choke (or enrichener, for you purest) hook up the same as ours? BB

Hi BB, don't know if it does or not,, I was just thowing that in as a possibility..on my choke cable, the carb end of the sheath is not secured so it can rise out of the tube that it sits in...as I understand it,both are carbs are mikuni and I figured there may be a similarity with the chokes, or enrichener for all the purists yes, mine is a 45, sorry I didn't say that in the post..I knew Musky knew it, but other folks probably would not. Thanks for keeping me straight.
