removing stock pippes 1 Year, 2 Months ago

I will be removing stock pipes and puting VH longshoots(once they arrive).
My question is about removing stock pipes. I have midnight silverado (with soft/leather bags).
The way I am looking at it, I should remove the bag on the right side to gain easy access to the bolts that are pointing up, and then there are the bolts at the cylinder heads, once the pipes are off I should be able to get at the mounting bracket. Also since the bike is new (1000km), I was going to reuse gaskets.
Does this sound about right, or am I missing something? Is there some hidden pain in the ass that I will run into?
Thanks for all your support, kind of new to all this working on the bike, but so far I learned from this forum, that if you want to be sure it is done well, learn how to do it youreslf.
Cheers
DarekC

Yes it's fairly simple. I took my pipes of as one unit (little awkward ).
You can reuse the stock gaskets.
Line everything up before tightening the bolts back up.

Just cut the wire doodad holding the brake line instead of disconnecting the line and having to bleed your brakes.

Hey Darekc, the only pain is the brakeline bolt on the back of the bracket. And when breaking the bolts loose use quick force and not slow force, they will come loose easyer.
other than that Doc and Musky got you covered.

And when you remove the bracket that the wire doodad is attached too
use a breaker bar as Yami puts lock tight on the bolts and they come loose
easier.
