Motorman,
Just say your post.
I've got the Barnett Conversion setup, too. It includes a pressure plate and coil springs. The dealer may be referring to the Barnett friction disks and plates. The Yamaha ones are longer lasting (based on what I've read of others' experiences), but the Barnett one's aren't really JUNK, either.
There is an article in the Tech Tips section of this website that shows all this pretty well, although the Barnett setup has been improved a little since the article was written. Here's the link:

I also have a better idea for taking the clutch basket nut off than what the article shows (in my opinion). But if you're having your dealer do the work, it won't matter, as they'll do it the Yamaha way.
Anyway, I'd agree with Doc, it definitely is a little stiffer pull. Not hugely different, be unmistakenly.
I commute nearly daily, nearly year-round, with my Road Star, and it's mostly through stop-n-go city traffic. I do just fine with the clutch, even from day-one. Don't even notice it anymore.
By the way, I've switched to oils designated as "Motorcycle" type now. At least, I know that Royal Purple synthetic is formulated (they say) to offer extra protection for the sheering forces in the transmission. But mostly I just feel good that I'm not going to find my clutch slipping from having accidentally using the wrong oil.
Hope this helps.
