My Roadie is basically running great. But at a stop light, if I quickly crank the throttle, it gasps a second. If I'm a touch slower on the crank, it's fine. When cranking through the gears on acceleration, it runs great with no hessitation. Anyone have any idea on the problem?

the bike doesn't like quick blips to the throttle. The slide raises by vacuum, a quick blip creates a lean condition. all is normal.

This is a constant velocity carb and it doesn't like quick action to it called blipping. The slide is controlled by vacuum so it takes a second to react. You are dumping to much fuel with the accelerator pump when you blip it. It is normal for it to do that with blipping.

Ditto. Many bone stock 1600's would die when blipping.

Wait a minute. What about turning the PMS out a little, upping the pilot jet, massaging the accelerator pump? Come on guys, it's just carb cough.

Shouldn't that last read,...Come on guys, it's just a "carb cough" ???

Put in a 37.5 pilot. Set the PMS at about 2 1/4 turns out(to start), turn the duration screw on the accelerator pump down to where it's about 2 1/2 turns off the lock nut with the nut on top of the arm, and call us in the morning.

I can't hardly believe it....what a bunch of slackers.

My 99 is doing the same thing, even with the other engine. Where is the pilot jet located? Do you have to remove the carb to replace it?
