Choke problems 11 Months ago
This past few mornings I've noticed that it seems that when I pull the choke lever it's not doing its thing. It'll start but it won't stay running. I have to give it some throttle to keep it running. I used to be able to start it & walk away for a few seconds then hop on & be on my way. Once it warms up i'm good to go & it runs just fine. I haven't gotten a chance to take a look @ the carb yet, any ideas from the carb gurus??

I'm no carb guru but is the choke knob actually staying out when you let go of it?

Good question, I was thinking the same thing. Mine actually does this automatic retract thing...which actually works out just about perfect for me.

Other than that could it be the time of the season when a tweek to the PMS is required for you?

My Shadow used to do that which was why I thought of it. I used to have to hold the choke knob until it warmed up a little. Then I found out you could tighten it up and not have to hold it.

There is a round rubber bumper behind the knob. You turn it clockwise to keep the choke out you don't want to tighten it to much so that it is hard to pull the choke out just enough to hold it in position.
