Jagg's oil cooler 12 Months ago
Anyone install one of these? http://www.jagg.com/6-row-vertical-slimline.htm Just mounted mine. Now the question is can I use the Baron's oil filter adapter? http://www.baronscustom.com/catalog/display/531/index.html Or must I use the one Jagg designed for it? http://www.jagg.com/4800.html

I have the Baron's, just wondering if it'll work alright with this particular vertical mounted cooler.

Looks like either one would work. They are made a little different but perform the same function. I don't have an oil cooler so this is just my thoughts. I like the looks of the Barons adapter better. Maybe someone who has actually used one can give you better advice. Good luck with your project.

I have the Jagg 6 row, but used the Jagg adapter so can't speak to the Baron's. Wasn't impressed with the quality of oil line provided, so went with 3/8 power steering line and did away with the hose clamps they provided (they backoff & leak) used fuel injector line clamps and no leaks.

And by the way, getting the Oil Filter Housing bolts to break loose was a bitch, the factory must have used the RED Locktite.

Good Luck!

Notice any difference between using one or not?

Haven't measured a before & after temp, so can't speak to that, but it's too hot to touch after a run down the interstate when it's 95 degrees, so I know it's dissipating plenty of heat...don't know if it will extend engine life or not.
I do remember the air cooled bikes of the 60's & 70"s, usually needed a top end done before 15k miles (exception BMW's)...probably where I got my hang up about cool oil.

Just installed the JAGG 4800 adapter on mine a couple of weeks ago. Using the JAGG cooler also. Sorry, don't know about the Barons adapter.

Just tried to install the Baron's adapter. Tried as I might I could not budge the bike's threaded oil filter nipple. It is necessary to remove that in order to install the new one supplied with the adapter. I tried a pipe wrench and vice grips. All I did was damage the threads so I could not get filter back on. Luckily local autozone had a 16tpi thead restorer and I was carefully able to thread filter back on slowly back and forth essentially restoring the threads. Fired it back up. No leaks, So now I'm going to order the Jagg's adapter and return the Baron's.
