Re:Clutch Issues Thanks for your Help. 1 Year, 1 Month ago
Just wanted to let everyone know that I completed the clutch job yesterday with no flaws. I ended up putting on the yami plates and the Barnett SR-2 Conversion Kit. Wow what a difference!!!! It really feels great and no more slippage. I wanted to use the Amsoil but ended up going with the Mobile 1 20-50 since it was easier for me to obtain.Just a thanks to all that assisted. Hope I can help you out in the future.

Thanks again,

Motorman

About $160 for the Barnett spring; $70 for the Warrior + gasket.

Doc's referring to the spring, not the actual plates. From what I've learned the stock plates we have are pretty much indestructible, but the springs do get weak. So, even if your clutch is slipping the plates may very well be fine and all you need is a stiffer/newer spring.

I guess my question was why would they use a different spring in the warrior than the roadie, it would cost them more in the production line, i think..

Probably the cost of material Thicker spring = more cost.
