Flash,

The Warrior produces WAY more power than the R* (fuel injection and such). I'd guess that the R* springs are much cheaper to produce, so it's worth it to Yamaha to have two separate parts to keep track of.

Hope this helps.

Randy, how can it? the compression is very close, 8.3 VS 8.36, the bore and stroke are the same, its a hundred lbs lighter, that's the only thing I see that could be different..not trying to stir anything up, just would like to know..

Flashback, My buddies got a Warrior, and yeah, the motor sizes are the same, but those things Jump. It's impressive! I see how they could need a better set up. Seems like a lot of guys who step up the power in their stock Roadies go looking for better clutch springs. Coincidence,.......I think not. BB

I picked up the sr-2 spring conversion kit by barnett for $113.95. The plates steel and friction plus the gasket ran me $143.00 from Yamaha. Add in the cost of oil and filter your looking at aroun $300. The spring conversion kit was purchased from Billski Mods Inc. www.billski182.com
I probably did not need to change steel plates but decided to do it since I put all new plates on bike.
