Re:Choke cable 1 Year, 1 Month ago
You're right there. I thought it would be read a couple times by a few and get buried. I do wish there were more results so I could feel better about this being a real deal fix.

That being said. Thanks to everyone who helped with info and results.

Got to ride today and after the warmup period shut the choke off
and noticed the bike started from a stop without any hesitation
and I'm having less of a strong smell from the exhaust. I only took
about 1/16th off but believe a little more would not hurt.

Thanks for the update

I'm wondering how widespread this really is. Granted the sampling is pretty small so far but it seems to be pretty consistant.

Greysnake, had you stretched your choke cable any time in the past?

Not really sure, but have had to take it loose to take the fuel
pump cover off and had to pull to get it out of it's braket.
It just seems to have better response since I trimmed it.

Anyone else want to cut pieces off their bikes that will make a Irreversible change to your bike? Or.......... Well........ Ya can chnage it back. It will just cost money to repair the free fix.

You know ..some people have cables that they really had to stretch to get them out of the bracket, some dont. Just makes sense.Mama Yamaha subs this work out. One of us might have a cable..(made to Yami specs) ..from "Bobs cables and sprocket Co." and the next bike may have one from Mitsubishi. There has to be a hair of a difference in them sometimes. This fix is really making sense to me. I've put a few hundred more miles on mine since I checked in last and still running perfect.

It will be a while but next spring I'm going to buy a new cable and see what trimming it does. It will only be a sample of one but I'm curious.
