Viiibbrraattiionn 11 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Based on a few conversations in a few other threads, I thought I'd post this. For those who say their bike has no vibration, here's what mine does at approx 75 mph (I don't know what RPM this is.)

Keep in mind that the camera can't keep up with the speed of the vibration. The mounts and lowers are NOT SHAKING like it looks like, they're vibrating so hard and so fast that they literally look blurry. The camera can't record at a fast enough frame rate to show the vibration, but it definitely shows how bad it gets. This is why my stereo won't work at highway speeds, and why I don't think my fairing is going to last.

So, if you were me, what would you look at first? I don't think there's any leak in the intake, but what do I know? I've read on here everything from cracked intake, carb issues, engine bolts, valve problems, etc. I don't have the time, tools, or knowledge to tear into the engine. Any other common checks?

WOW looks like there is some mounting bolts loose on the fairing mounts. I've never seen one vibrate that bad sitting still. Have you done an SVS treatment to it yet the 05 is bad about SVS?

Thats what someone said, lol, that a windshield bolt has to be loose. They aren't. I've never done anything about the SVS, but it might be time to start learning? I thought they all vibrated this bad until I put this fairing on and started reading around here.

Motor sounds le its running good to me. I would look at the bolts that hold the windshield mounts on. Looks like the blinkers are a shaking too. Wonder if the bolts on the lower tree vibrated loose.

Nope, tight as can be. Right now I've put rubber washers in there to try and isolate things some, but this was taken before that.

Back when I ran a Baron's light bar and the bike was almost brand new, at 80 mph I could watch the small bolts slowly unscrewing themselves out of the light bar due to the vibration. The point being its always done this and I thought it was normal, but this new set-up seems to attract the problem more than my old memphis shades set-up.

I'm worried that after the 300 mile trip up to Marblehead there won't be any fairing left.

Make sure those windshield mounts are not broken, right next to where the bottom bolts go in. Also, check your steering head bearings and make sure they are good and snug (no flop condition). What pressure are you runnning in your front tire, and what brand is it? Is your idle speed correct (900 RPM)?
These are all little things that helped me stop mine from being a paint shaker on the front and making it worry free.
