Belt tension 2 Years, 8 Months ago
Hello all. was riding last Saturday and got in 480 miles and my riding buddy made a comment that my belt was jumping up and down and he had never seen it do that before. Of course he would notice it because he is ridind a Harley Dyna Glide and it is usually behind me. Just wondering if I should have it looked at, am getting it tuned up May 6th. Thanks

To find out if it's too loose, grab the lower belt about halfway and try to twist it. I it twists more than about 45 degrees then it may be too loose.

You can buy a belt guage from HD (or use your buddies).

I doubt that it too loose as you probably would be complaining about a chirping noise when you back off the throttle.

Oh, DocShadow is right about the chirping noise!!!!!!!!!!!
Mine did it soooo bad, I thought the tranny was blowing up on me.
You know after the recall and all.
If it isn't making noise, I would not worry, too much.
