I’ve looked a long time before finding mine, it’s a Cobra 8,000 RPM chromed billet tach (model 01-1740), directly mounted on the handlebar riser, I like the way it overlap the riser, white illumination for easy reading at night, great sturdiness. Had mine for 3 years now and it still ticking!

I never really used it to adjust idle, it’s more for the fun of it. When I cruise at 70mph, needle indicates 2,250rpm.

I saw that one, RG, and it liked the looks of it, but my handlebar clamp is the one-piece job. But, I'm also thinkin' of getting new risers, so...it could still work.

Hi papatom,

Just realize I’m gonna have to replace my right clamp with a chromed one to match the tach‘s finish!

The only thing I don’t like about the RS speedo is the yellowish night illumination, doesn’t match the nice bright white light of the tach.

Now that I looked closer at your pic, I can see the difference in the chrome. Darn, now you've gotta get more chrome RG.

Yeah, I think no matter what tach I get it's gonna be brighter than the speedo, unless I get a black one. Think I like the white one better tho.

Hi Tom,

The Cobra would certainly look nice on you’re ride.

Yeah, for the chrome, well I’m getting there, since that pic, I’ve added a chromed front master cylinder cover, looks really nice and very affordable.

How is the Cobra in the rain?
I used to have a Barons tach on my 650, and everytime it rained, the tach would fog up inside with water.

For the one piece clamp..the Pro-one is worth considering

Yup, saw that one too Pop. It's nice finally having a scoot with a lot of aftermarket choices.
