My Roadie is an '06 Silverado, and has always run great. I have the Cobra Speedster Long exhaust pipes, a BAK from Barons and the AIS has been removed. All the work has been done by the dealership where I purchased the bike. I have never had any problems out of this bike, untill a few weeks ago.

The bike now has 9K miles and i was unable to get it to the dealer for the 8K service, so i decided to change the oil myself and then take it to the dealer later when i had time. I used the Lucas 20/50 full synthetic. The next week while ridin to work the bike cut off when i made the first stop. I tried to crank it back up and it spit & sputtered and wouldn't stay runnin. I left it switched off for a few minutes and then it fired right up and was fine. I rode home and drove my truck to work. That afternoon i rode the bike and it ran fine, no problems. Thought, whew thank goodness nothing was wrong!!

Well, few days later it done same exact thing again!! Then done it again while i was ridin home in the middle of the ride, at full throttle! That weekend, this past saturday, i took it to the dealer. As soon as i started to explain the problem, the owner nodded and said he knew exactly what the problem was. He said i needed to quit burning 93 octane and change to 87! He explained the whole thing about the valves and carbon and all, and said he'd have it back runnin fine!

Well, I forgot to mention about the oil; and after reading all the posts on here i think i need to call him and let him know i put 4 1/4qts of oil in. Thinkin maybe that is the problem! Have had bike for over 2 1/2 years with pipes & BAK and never had SVS. It runs rich, but never had any problems untill oil change.
