As much as I like K&amp;N filters I figured if I started messing with the filter it would lead to jetting and where ever else it snowballed from there. That's why I was hoping I could just install the pipes and leave everything else alone. I'm not after a performance bump so it would mean buying parts for a result I'm not after. I just want lower pipes for bigger bags and louder. I think Yamaha should have just put a low mounted 2 into 1 on the bike to begin with. Better performance for most of the throttle usage and people wouldn't be so limited on bag size. A 2 into 1 wouldn't have made any difference to anyone who was going to dump the stock pipes for after market anyway but it would help people who could have been happy with stock. Drill out the plate, tweak the mixture screws and it would have been a done deal. OK, I'm going to hop off my soapbox now.
