For those of you who have removed your fuel pump, I would like to know what you did with your choke cable. Where did you mount it???? Did you make your own mounting system.

I did mine like wildstar stu. Look in star web directory under member websites. It looks great and was cheap and easy to do. V-star 650 choke bracket bend to fit gas tank bolt.

I took an angle I had laying around and drilled it out to match the bolt holes that the pump bracket was attached to, drilled the hole for the choke, and painted black.. Its basicly in the same location but higher up under the tank.. pumpless In the pic the choke cable is running under the mani, I have since routed it above..

Thanks I now know what I'm going to do.
For those of you who answered, who is running without a pump? I would like to eliminate the pump and just due gravity feed like my harley but I want to make sure the bike will still run properly.

Re:Choke cable 1 Year ago
I am running pumpless and she runs fine even when I hammer the throttle on the expressway 100 mph .I was having to switch about 30 miles earlier to reserve so I sawed off the main fuel intake on the petcock.I have installed a hiflow pingle filter and vented my tank cap and disconected my back flow preventer errrr rollover valve.I didnt do all that out of necessity ,I did it before removing the pump and when I have some time and get something to carry a little spare gas I will ride and try to eliminate the need of the gas cap vent and find out exactly how many miles past hitting reserve I can go.So in short I am still playing with mine Do a search for pumpless and there are several posts discussing it .....Coug

Like Cougar, I just took mine off a month or two ago..so I can't say much..no problems that I have noticed tho...I got a puralator filter at pep boys, as I am not quite ready to go without a filter yet, although, many do..Did not vent the gas cap..did take the rollover valve off..never paid much attention to the gas gage, as I never had one on any of my other bikes, when it starts to cut out, I flip it to reserve and start hunting a station.. I like it

Strapped to the rear downtube just below the fuses.

I use a snowmobile filter ..... it small but clear so I can see the filter. Pingle also sells a chrome jobbie that lets you replace the innards.
