Right here will do fine for now. It won't take long to get to know your way around. What is your question?

I was reading about adding an oil pressure gauge to my road star,
Once I install it, what should the pressure be?

Somewhere from 40 to 60 pounds while cruising would be in the ball park. It will be lower at idle of course and probably higher when cold. If you haven't bought a gauge yet get one that goes up to 100 PSI just so you know for sure how high the pressure really goes. My .00003 cents anywho.

According to Clymer:
"Engine oil pressure at 60 degrees C (140 degrees F), 40-80 kPa (5.8-11.6 psi) @ 900 rpm".

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info.
I just bought my road star about 6 weeks ago.
It is a 1999 with 13000 miles on it.
It has some engine noise, that the reason for the oil pressure question.

Its an air cooled v-twin, some noise is okay. Mine quieted down when I switched over to Mobil-1 V-Twin Synthetic oil.

Hey Envinyatar,

I have been working on cars on and off for a few years.
If my chevy 350 was making the noise my bike makes I would pull the valve covers
and tighten the rocker arms a little.
But, I would not expect that the rocker arms on my bike would be loose after just
13000 miles.

Or would they?
