Nemisis coils and wires 11 Months, 1 Week ago
|
|
Hey guys.....yup....I'm back. I've been working like a friggin dog lately and haven't been able to get on here. Anyway, has anybody out there switched from dyna coils and wires (like I have installed on my bike) and went to the nemisis coils and wires? If so, was it worth it? Did you notice a difference? i"m thinking that having the dyna coils and wires is contributing to my carbon build up and loss of power that I should have. Anybody?

Hey Beef I put the nemesis coils in after removing my stock coils but only after I put on the dyna3000 iggy.I noticed a big difference in overall idle and low to mid range running of my bike was smoother and quicker with the 3000.....when I installed the Nemisis I really didnt notice that big a difference in the ride but my rear plug may be just a bit cleaner .I would test the coils and wires you are running to make sure they are performing within the specs before moving to another brand. ...Coug

I remember hearing something about the dyna coils not being withing specs for the roadstar....something about them having too much resistance or something therefore not giving a hot enough spark. Doc or anybody have any more info on this?

Our coils are rated at 1.53 ~ 2.07 ohm resistance
The Dyna coils are 2.2 Ohms. The Nemisis coils are 1.5 and thats why I bought Nemesis coils anyway....Coug

Thanks guys. I'm thinking I'm gonna get me the nemisis coils and wires sometime after the new year. Getting pretty tired of my plugs fouling out due to carbon. Not to mention I leaned out my carb to accomodate the carbon build up on the plugs. THanks again guys.

Coug,
I am flattered that you chose to quote from my article on installing the aftermarket coils. It would be nice to have either put in a link to this article in your post, or said where your info came from.
I know. Those numbers are reasonably common knowledge. It's just, when you cut/paste from a source, it is considered polite to reference that source--especially when the cut/paste comes from a quote from a respected third party--namely, Joel Parker.
On a lighter note: I appreciate this, because it brought to light the fact that I had misspelled Nemesis in my article.
Thanks, Coug. I'll fix that right away. ........ (now fixed)
