#5745 rmruder (User) Fresh Boarder Posts: 95 Speedstar Intake 2 Years, 6 Months ago   Does anyone know if the Speedstar billet backplate that goes with their air filter fits on the stock carb? My dealer doesn't seem to know........imagine that! They said it might only fit on the 42mm carb. I can't imagine but now I'm confused after asking the dealer. I would like to get one to add to my intake as it it's supposed to bring the intake another 1" closer and proide some more leg room. Junior Boarder Posts: 186 Re:Speedstar Intake 2 Years, 6 Months ago   My dealer told me it only fits with the Mikuni 42 mm carb. I have the same air filter on mine and also asked if I need that special backplate. The filter will fit on the original, but it takes a bit of practice getting it to line up just right. If I had my choice, I'd pull it towards the engine more because my leg hits it, but I've learned to adapt to it.   Logged     One ride is never enough.   The administrator has disabled public write access.
