gapping a sparkplug 6 Years ago
What is the best way to gap a sparkplug? Flat feeler guage or a wire type guage? Also, what is the best way to spread or if I have to, tighten the gap?

I've always used the wire. The kind that come in a fold in the handle set. They usually have a small piece to spread the gap. To tighten the gap I just put the plug on something sturdy and press down a little. Don't tap on the plug because you might break the porcelin. (Learned that the hard way) Don't know if this is the recommended pro way of doing it but it's always worked for me. I also never try and use a plug that I have I dropped. Learned that the hard way too .
