Hey Yamahog7 I've been using the Dunlop cruisemax www
on mine and have gotten over 15,000 on the rear. I'm on my second
set now. Tried a ME 880 on the front, side walls cracked bad on it.
But it was made in Brazil so that might have had something to do with it.
I just like the ride with the Dunlops. Price for them was $114.00 for
the rear and $102.00 for the front.
Well depending on miles,Oil&filter change,New plugs,fuel filter

Well Yamahog I got 8000 out of my Bridg's and like blackrodie said the front was cupping. Seems they are really soft rubber I guess. I bought Metzler ME880 but that were from Brazil not Germany the ones from Germany are supposed to be better grade so make sure you request Germany. Don't get me wrong my Brazil tires beat the Bridg's by a mile and i still have them on my stock rims. I bought these rims & tires off ebay and the tires are Michelin Commanders and I must say I love them they are every bit as good maybe even a little better than the Metzlers. I have a almost new spare rear Metzler that I bought on ebay for $50 for when my rear wears out then I also have the ones on the stock rims so I won't buy tires for a while. Bottom line for me is Michelin Commander OR Metzler.PS: If you want to see the tread on the Michelin Commander click on the little world and go to wheels on my site.

I didn't price the Dunlops but I did price the Me880"s 160-rear $215.13 130-fr. $147.12 plus $90.00 labor at the dealers. I found the same tires at AMT on-line for considerably less r-$144.73, f-$96.23. It always pays to shop around.

Hey charliez - im new to the site and wanted to but in and ask if you had a recommendation on changing out my front turn signals for my 2000 1600? I want to change the existing mount and/or remove the mount all together and go with bullet style front turn signals to match with my rear signals. Sorry to but in on the tire conversation

Thanks everyone for responding to my ???
If I buy my tires online ,and not at the dealer, will the yamaha dealer still mount them for me? It seems the prices online will be much better than if I get them at the dealer.

I would guess that would depend on the particular dealer,,in any case, he will probably charge you top dollar to do it...I think I would look for an independent shop...just my 2....
