Exhaust leaks 4 Years, 3 Months ago
Not sure that I have one but am giving the bike a once over. I have rust on the flanges which was there when I got the bike. Any suggestions for getting it off. Think I might have to pull the pipes to get to them good. I have V&H longshots.

You can use steel wool to get the rust off but it will return. You will need to rechrome the flanges or just paint them with hi-heat aluminum paint.

For light surface rust I use never dull. It is a mineral base impregnated cotton wadding. do small areas at a time and have a terry cloth rag/ old towel and wipe often. You know that you are getting somewhere when black liquid starts to appear. Dearman

I have heard to use something like incense, cigarette, etc. to generate some smoke, direct the smoke towards the suspected leak area and see if it is disrupted..
