some folks drop the tickover down to get this effect, but it isnīt a good idea as at such low revs the oil pump isnīt working at full efficiency.

stick to 800-900rpm, and be proud to have bought a yamaha

erizo has it perfectly It is always better to tune your ride to optimum performance and sound rather than to the sound of another bike when it is tuned to its optimum performance. The tech tips section can systematically walk you through small steps to bringing your R* to life at the degree that you desire welcome

Several factors..cause the uneven beat sound...in a HD

The single carb...feeding two cyl...
Single pin crank effecting engine fire timing
A single coil dual fire... plugs firing simultaneaously..on both cyl...

Exhaust design...

The R* has a coil for each cyl...but does have a single CV carb for both cyl...
and a single pin crank V-twin ..and choice of after market exhausts...

Not much you can do to enhance the uneven beat....

It is there on the R* more than other v-twins with dual pin cranks and EFI..

PS The EFI has gains..... but it evens out the beat ....
